IPL Photofacial: The Secret to Brighter, More Even Skin

Sun spots, redness, uneven tone. If you live in Colorado, chances are your skin has a few stories to tell. With over 300 days of sunshine a year, sun damage shows up on even the most careful skin care routines. The good news? You do not have to live with it.

An IPL Photofacial is one of the most effective ways to restore clarity and glow to your skin, with little to no downtime.

What Is an IPL Photofacial?

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. Unlike a laser that uses a single wavelength, IPL delivers multiple wavelengths of light into the skin at once. This makes it incredibly versatile, because it can target several concerns in the same treatment:

  • Sun spots and age spots
  • Redness and broken capillaries
  • Rosacea flushing
  • Uneven skin tone and dullness
  • Mild texture issues

The light energy is absorbed by pigment and blood vessels beneath the surface. Your body then naturally clears away the damaged cells, revealing brighter, more even skin over the following weeks.

What a Session Feels Like

A typical IPL session at our Greeley studio takes about 30 minutes. After cleansing your skin, we apply a cooling gel and pass the IPL device over the treatment area. Each pulse feels like a warm flick against the skin. Most clients say it is much easier than they expected.

There is no cutting, no needles, and no numbing required for most people.

“IPL is my go-to recommendation for clients who want a real, visible change without taking time off. You can come in on your lunch break and go right back to your day.” – Miranda

The Days After Your Treatment

Here is the part clients love: sun spots often get darker for a few days after treatment, then flake away naturally like coffee grounds on the skin. This is completely normal and actually a sign the treatment is working.

A few simple aftercare rules:

  1. Wear SPF 30 or higher every single day, no exceptions
  2. Avoid picking or scrubbing the darkened spots, let them shed on their own
  3. Use gentle, hydrating products for the first week
  4. Skip retinol and exfoliating acids for 5 to 7 days

How Many Sessions Do You Need?

Most clients see a noticeable improvement after their very first session. For best results, we usually recommend a series of 3 to 5 treatments spaced about a month apart. After that, a maintenance session once or twice a year keeps your skin looking fresh, especially with our sunny Colorado climate.

Is IPL Right for You?

IPL works best on light to medium skin tones with sun damage, redness, or uneven pigmentation. During your consultation, we will look at your skin together and tell you honestly whether IPL is the best fit or whether another treatment would serve you better. That is a promise we make to every client.

Your Skin Deserves This

Imagine looking in the mirror and seeing clear, even, glowing skin without layers of makeup. That is what IPL can do.
